The Tri-Pak Buffer Brush Unit is a modular overhead brushing system designed to transform standard produce brush beds into controlled waxing and finishing stations for post-harvest packing operations. Installed above a conventional brush conveyor and paired with the Tri-Pak Wax Injection System, the buffer brush assembly receives metered wax directly onto the tops of rotating buffer brushes, which then transfer a uniform coating onto produce as it passes through the brush bed below.

Built to support a wide range of processing requirements, Buffer Brush Units are available in several standard sizes but are frequently custom engineered to match existing conveyor geometry, line speed, produce type, and overall process goals.

Configurations may range from compact systems with as few as two overhead buffer brushes to large-format units utilizing six or more brushes for increased contact area and coating consistency.

Buffer brushes not only distribute wax uniformly across the produce surface but also provide controlled polishing action to improve coating appearance and presentation. Brush count, spacing, rotational speed, and overall chamber design are selected to match the application and desired finish characteristics.

For more specialized processing lines, the overhead assembly may be divided into multiple process zones. Split-chamber configurations can combine buffer brushing on one lane with heated or ambient airflow on an adjacent lane, allowing simultaneous waxing and drying functions within a shared footprint.

All Buffer Brush Units are constructed entirely from stainless steel for food-safe operation and long-term durability in washdown environments. Systems may be supplied as standalone overhead brush assemblies or integrated into complete waxing and drying stations with heaters, airflow systems, motors, drives, exhaust equipment, controls, and required safety guarding.

Reliable, configurable, and designed around real packing operations, the Tri-Pak Buffer Brush Unit provides growers and packers with a flexible solution for produce finishing, wax application, and integrated line processing.
